AN ESSAY (FOR AND AGAINST)

MODERN LIFESTYLES AND OUR HEALTH

In the 21st century, technology has taken an important roll on our lives. It solved many daily problems about our jobs or studies and nowadays we do everything trough computers. But we didn’t realize what kind of disadvantages we can have for modern lifestyles that can seriously endanger our health.

Firstly, we used to be dependent on technology and do a lot of things without stand up of our chairs. Also, we normally eat in front of the computer when we are working or studying and if we do not go to the gym, it can be worse. That bad habit could make us sedentary people and we can start to increase our weight especially if we prefer fast food before than an elaborated meal.

On the other hand, we can work out in our home with programs on TV or videos on YouTube. It is not necessary to go out or spend money, just feel like and start to move. It may be better than just work or study in a computer.

All in all, technology has bad points related to the health, and a routine in front of a computer could help it for endanger ourselves.

A REPORT (UNIT 11)

IMPROVING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Introduction
The purpose of this report is to make recommendations for the town council Miguel Isa about our needs. Our town has a large amount of money which is available to spend on improving the Miguel Araoz neighbourhood, for example.

Paved Streets
From the beginning, all our streets are made of dust and spall. And when it rains appears a big problem: the water comes into our houses because we do not have drain or something like that. We need urgently paved streets and of course, drainage channels.

Medical Room
The only medical room near is in the Intersindical neighbourhood, and while it is nearer than others, in emergencies we always have to walk or to take a taxi. And it has an expensive cost. It would be a good idea for me to build a new medical room in our neighbourhood, near the central square and the school, for all types of situations there and exclusively in this place.

Recommendation

In conclusion, I would recommend spending the money on paving streets, because it more urgent than having a medical room in the neighbourhood (we have others near). Remember that we are near of the rainy season!

A STORY (UNIT 10)

Martin Palermo’s retirement

I will always remember that day as one of the happiest days of my life. I started to work as a journalist from 2009, but I had never had the chance of meet famous football players. In consequence, I felt very anxious and excited when I knew that Martín Palermo will be here for his retirement.

It was a sunny day. I was too worried about not being late, so I tried to persuade my father to take me to Rosario de Lerma, where the press conference would take place. When I arrived, I started to feel more and more nervous, because we had some problems to have the pass to the conference and I did not want to stay out.

In the press conference, with others famous football players
Luckily, I could get into the conference and enjoy my idol talking in front of me. I could film and take pictures of him, that after I could use for my work. In the afternoon, I covered his last football match in Salta and I could take pictures too, very near of Palermo. That one meeting made it a day I will never forget.

A REPORT (UNIT 8)

REPORT ON ADVENTURE SPORTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Introduction
The aim of this report is to suggest some adventure sports which young people would be interested, how they would benefit from doing these sports and in consequence to encourage these people to join our club, Gimnasia y Tiro.

Which adventure sports?
I think young people would be interested in Rafting or Mountain Biking. The first one is the challenging recreational outdoor activity of using an inflatable raft to navigate a river. The other one is the sport of riding bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain, using specially designed mountain bikes. This lasts up to four days depending on the circuit.

Benefits
Doing these activities would benefit young people by acquiring more decision and attitude to face their fears, encouraging team spirit and giving them a sense of adventure. And at the same time they would get fitter.

Conclusion

I recommend organising a Mountain Biking group, because young people could participate in it in different categories, and we have every year competences like “Yungas circuit” or “Cachi pure adventure”. Young people could find this sport very exciting and new for our club.

AN ARTICLE

TO BE FAMOUS OR TO BE WELL- KNOWN?
Many people dream of being famous someday. The fact that live with a lot of money, a luxurious house, an expensive car and a crazy life sometimes with just one TV appearance, make people very dreamy. And with or without talent, sometimes people have their own 30 seconds to fame, and for that always earn some money. And that is enough for this people.
Although be famous can be exciting, there are some disadvantages. First of all there isn’t privacy. You became a known and public person, and you can’t get away of this. Moreover, paparazzis will not let you live peacefully, and it’s a big problem. Finally, you must be always a nice and a kind person for your fans, even if you had a bad day.
In despite of this, I think that is more important being a well known person than just a famous. Thus you can live a bit quietly, because if you choose the life of partys and vices, you can’t sleep in peace. And it will be badly for your public image. However, if you don’t worry about that, you can be happy being yourself and let the people speak. It’s not your problem!

And tell me, how much does the summer camp cost? Is the trip include in the final price? By the way, I prefer the Great Barrier Reef because I love the water and it would be more exciting than visiting the Australia desert. I'm a fan of diving too! What do you think?. What do you prefer? Is any other option?

Let me know soon.

Kisses,

Karii
