A LETTER (EDITED)

Dear Mr Reid,
I have seen your advertisement on the Internet and I want to apply for a summer job as a sports supervisor in your camp.
I am interested in that job because I love children and I like sports. I think that I have the just patience for teens, because I have four nephews and I enjoy myself with them. Also, I need to practise for my future like an English teacher.
Could you please tell me how much do you offer for the job?
I am an 23 year old student from Argentina. I am in the second year of the English Teacher Training of the Franklin Institute, and I am going to apply for the Pre Intermediatly Exam of Cambridge. Last year I had passed the KET one, so I have some knowledge about the language.
I look foward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Karina Kehl

WRITING AN EMAIL

Dear Caroline,

Thanks for your email! I think we're connected because I was searching the same! And of course that I'm interesting to go. But on what date approximately?

You've mentioned that I can choose which subject I want to study and do a lots of sports. That's a good idea! Because actually I'm interesting in physical education and I need practise more sports. But what sports can I choose?

And tell me, how much does the summer camp cost? Is the trip include in the final price? By the way, I prefer the Great Barrier Reef because I love the water and it would be more exciting than visiting the Australia desert. I'm a fan of diving too! What do you think?. What do you prefer? Is any other option?

Let me know soon.

Kisses,

Karii

A REVIEW

PIZZA HOOP

The first time that I heared about Pizza Hoop was trough a very good friend. How right was he! Pizzas Hoop is a restaurant where you can find the richest pizzas in Salta. It's in 315 Alvarado street, opposite to a square and near a swimming pool.
You could find there a different kinds of pizzas. The tastier one that I'd never eaten before was the Balcarce, with cheese, chicken, eggs, palm heart and golf sauce. Of course, you could choose others dishes, like empanadas, locro, humitas, and now free past. It was a family place, the decor was simple and the waiters were very polite.

I really enjoyed the Calzone too. It was more delicious and cheaper than other places. And with free past, you could put away money for another meal or for a drink. I particulary liked the taste and the atention in this place, and of course it have all the normal services in a restaurant.
I think that everyone will enjoy Pizza Hoop because it combines a nice place, differents tastes and rasonable prices for all the family or simply a friend's group. I recommend it!

Writing a story

Last summer, I traveled to Tilcara for a short holidays, and it was something I'll never forget. First of all I was very excited because I'd never visited that place yet, and I had to travel alone because some friends were there when I decided to go.

With my new best friends! :)
It was a sunny Sunday when I bought a ticket for my unforgettable vacations. The number was 45. Yes! The last ticket! And for that I knew it was a very good signal. I've been lucky. Into the bus, I met my "new best friends", Jime, Ema and Cristian, with whom I spent an enjoyable time in Tilcara. But my plan was meet my others friends there, because they had a place to stay, a tent, some food and others things that I didn't take and I needed.

When I arrived Tilcara, I noticed with surprise that my friends were not my friends. They gave me a different adresses of them, and I phoned them a lot of times but I didn't have answers. I was so sad because they dissapointed me, and I didn't know what I had to do. Fortunately, my new best friends were very kind with me, and I stay with them, in their tent, with their food and their stuffs. It was very funny, because I never imagine that it was happen with me. Anyway, my short holidays were better than I'd planned, and I want to comeback there next year!

AN ARTICLE

DANCING SALSA

I first got interested in dancing salsa for a very good friend, José. He loves that latin rhythm, and he took me and another friend to a dancing club and we really enjoy that. After that, I started to look for a club or a gym to practise salsa maybe everyday. But I found just one place to dancing in my freetime, for that, I began salsa twice a week with my best friend, Cintia.

We started it a month ago, and we want continue for all the year. But we need other place to do it, because now we're dancing alone, and really we want dance with a couple.

Salsa is a funny and a healthy dancing. I feel very happy when I'm dancing, and I share more time with my friend before I start to work. Sometimes I imagine that I'm in a salsa competition, and for that I do the best. Actually, I'm not a very well dancer, but I believe it , je.

Well, I'd recommend it as a hobby because it's very satisfying if you try it, and when you're dancing, you forget all your diary problems in the work or maybe in your house. So, let´s start!

WRITING AN E- MAIL

Hello Anne,

Thank you for your email! It's amazing to know that you want to come here. For me, the best time in the year is in September, when the spring is starting. But also, you can coming to Salta in the summer, for the peak season.

Well, if you want to meet young people you should talk with AFS, an foreing- exchange programme's organization. You'll meet new friends, people of another countries and you'll share with they a lot of activities in the town.

Look Anne! they're guys from AFS
In the other hand, I suggest wearing light clothes, specially for the summer, like T- Shirts and short skirts. But you musn't forget to bring a jacket or a coat, because sometimes here rains a lot, and the weather become cold.

And thanks for your invitation to join the group, it was very polite. Of course you can count with me, we have a lot of thing to do here!

All the best,

Karina

MOUNTAIN GORILLA

The mountain gorilla is an animal specie in critically endangered. We have two subspecies of the eastern gorilla, and that's one. We can find this animal in the Virunga volcanic mountains of Central Africa, within three National Parks: Mgahinga, Volcanoes and Virunga. And also, we can find it in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

This kind of gorilla is a herbivore. It usually eats leaves, shoots and stems, but also feeds on bark, roots, flowers, fruits and small invertebrates.

In a combination of hunting, regional conflict, destruction of its forest habitat, and capture for the illegal pet trade, the mountain gorilla has listed as Critically Endangered in the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Red List of Threatened Species. For that, there are only around 782 mountain gorillas surviving in the wild and 4 in captivity.

The park rangers are people dedicated to protect the gorillas. Their job is defend the last remaining mountain gorillas. Actually, in recent years, more than a hundred rangers have been killed in the line of duty.
